Please observe that the Lava Tunnel is a natural phenomenon and although we have strived to make the environment as safe as possible we do not want to cause damage to nature. The environment you will encounter during our tours may therefore be unsafe unless all necessary caution is used. You must therefore show care and caution, and at all times take full note of your surroundings. You must not remove any of the safety equipment we may provide and you must observe and fully comply with any instructions given by our personnel.
The Lava Tunnel disclaims responsibility or liability for damage to belongings, physical injury, accidents, sickness or other type of loss you may incur before, during or after our tours.
Unfortunately, we do not control the weather so the Lava Tunnel also disclaims responsibility for any loss or inconvenience resulting from changes in tour schedule, such as routes and timetables due to weather or other irregularity outside the Lava Tunnel’s control.
The Lava Tunnel operates under and is subject to Icelandic law. Any claim or action against The Lava Tunnel is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Icelandic Courts.
Reservations for the Standard Lava Tunnel Tour can be cancelled 24 hours prior to departure without penalty. Cancellations received less than 24 hours prior to departure will be charged half price. Cancellations received less than 12 hours prior to departure will be charged full price.
Reservations for the Extreme Lava Tunnel Tour can be cancelled 24 hours prior to departure without penalty. Cancellations received less than 24 hours prior to departure will be charged half price. Cancellations received less than 12 hours prior to departure will be charged full price.
The Lava Tunnel reserves the right to cancel a tour with at least one hour notice if there is an insufficient number of passengers. If The Lava Tunnel cancels your tour you get a full refund.
Taxes and fees
All prices on the website are including VAT and invoices are issued with VAT.
The Lava Tunnel reserves the right to change prices already quoted or published on our website and in our price lists subject to currency fluctuation and conditions that are outside The Lava Tunnel’s control.

Sturdy shoes and a warm outdoor wear should be worn when going on a Lava Tunnel tour. Bear in mind that there is usually some water dripping from the ceiling so wearing a water resistant or water proof jacket/clothes is recommended. The Extreme Lava Tunnel Tour is only for passengers in good physical shape. This tour is not recommended for people with back, knee or other health issues which may limit mobility or ability to deal with extreme environment. Passengers in the standard tours need to be able to walk up and down stairs easily and be able to walk on uneven surface including on snow.
Please note that indicated departure and return times can vary due to several factors including weather conditions. Estimated time in the cave will also vary depending on the passengers and the guide involved. The Lava Tunnel cannot be made responsible for losses a passenger may face due to delay, regardless of the loss being direct or indirect. Passengers for pick up should estimate to be ready at least 45 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
Bookings for individuals can be done on-line through our website or though some of our sales agents. If any problems are encountered while booking please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. The same e-mail can be used for group bookings.
The seller holds all information from the buyer in relation to the purchase as confidential. Under no circumstances will information be handed to a third party.
