For one night only Capsuleers will descend beneath Iceland’s surface into Raufarhólshellir, the lava tunnel used as the setting for CCP’s Catalyst livestream, a location that also earned a tongue-in-cheek award as one of the most unforgettable places to stream an MMO.
What begins as a natural cave experience gradually shifts into something else entirely, as the environment transforms into a staged New Eden encounter deep underground. With transport from Harpa, curated moments inside the cave, and a tasting of Mosi’s memorabilia gin, aged in a barrel that was part of the original livestream, the experience acts as a prelude to Thursday night, bridging Iceland itself with the universe of EVE.

Once fitted with helmets and headlamps, you will descend into the cave where you encounter expert guides who will walk you through the geology, history, and unique formations of this ancient lava tube. The tunnel tells a story thousands of years in the making. The story of The Lava Tunnel is the story of Iceland itself.
Inside the spacious chambers of The Lava Tunnel Mosi Gin, the Icelandic craft spirit redefining gin by letting nature take the lead, has barrels quietly aging and weathering in the cool, stable air of the cave. For one night, they're opening them up. A gin tasting hosted by Mosi inside the tunnel gives you a chance to try their expressions in the very environment where they were born, with the people behind the brand on hand to walk you through what makes each one distinct.
Deeper inside, something unexpected awaits.
The lights go out, and at the same time reveal an environment unlike any you have experienced before.
The Lava Tunnel tour is fairly easy for most people. Guests need to be able to walk on uneven ground and up and down some stairs.
Your pickup will be waiting for you outside Harpa, the Fanfest venue, at your chosen time. The coach ride to The Lava Tunnel is approximately 40 minutes. At The Lava Tunnel bathrooms will be available before the cave adventures starts. You can expect to spend up to 1 hour inside the cave. After the event, busses will return you to Harpa where you can resume the Fanfest activities.
